COLLEGE STATION — Two professionals have joined Texas A&M AgriLife to manage marketing and communications plans, according to Dr. Mark Hussey, vice chancellor and dean of agriculture and life sciences for the Texas A&M University System.

Lara Kohl Burhenn is the new communications and marketing manager for the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, and Jeffrey Pool is the communications manager for the Texas A&M College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

           The pair will create, develop and implement strategic marketing and communications plans for their respective components of Texas A&M AgriLife.

          

 Burhenn brings 15 years of public relations experience from both the public and private sectors, most recently from Phillips 66 in Houston. She holds a bachelor’s in communications and print journalism from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas.

Pool was a public affairs officer for the U.S. Marine Corps. He recently completed four years at the Pentagon working for the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Throughout his 20year career, he served in numerous leadership positions and was deployed on multiple tours to Iraq and Afghanistan. He holds a bachelor’s in philosophy from the University of North Texas in Denton and a master’s in strategic communications from Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania.
