ROBY – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service has named Nick Dickson as the new agriculture and natural resources agent for Fisher County effective Jan. 3.

The announcement was made by Fisher County Judge Ken Holt and Marty Gibbs, AgriLife Extension administrator for the agency’s West Central District at San Angelo.

“We are very pleased to be able to make this announcement,” Gibbs said. “Nick is a native of Roby so obviously knows the area well. He also has an extensive teaching background, having taught and coached in area school districts for the past 17 years. In addition, he has a strong agricultural background and much experience in raising and exhibiting cattle.”

“I am confident Nick will be major asset not only to the agricultural producers in Fisher County, but also as the adviser for the county’s 4-H youth development component.”

Dickson earned a bachelor’s degree from Sul Ross State University at Alpine in 2000. His previous work experience includes serving as a coach and teacher at Anson, Lubbock Roosevelt, Post, Muleshoe and Roby. He holds certifications in history and secondary physical education.
