Capital Farm Credit receives AgriLife Extension’s Partnership Award

COLLEGE STATION – Capital Farm Credit has received a 2017 Partnership Award from the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.
Dr. Doug Steele, AgriLife Extension director in College Station, said the partnership award recognizes vital alliances with agencies, organizations and others beyond the Texas A&M University System.
Presented Jan. 10, recipients were cited for dedicated collaboration and support that have significantly enhanced the outreach and impact of AgriLife Extension programs for the people of Texas.
“As Capital Farm Credit tells its customers, they don’t just make loans, and at AgriLife Extension, we know they also make investments,” Steele said. “This customer-owned cooperative has offered financial support of AgriLife Extension’s educational activities for decades and has made a statewide impact, particularly in the 192 counties where Capital Farm Credit is chartered.”
A sampling of recent sponsorships provided by Capital Farm Credit includes AgriLife Extension’s Ranch Management University, Bennett Trust Women’s Land Stewardship Conference, Master Marketers, a veterans program for ranchers and the 4-H Livestock and Equine Ambassador programs.
Longtime beneficiaries include the Texas A&M Beef Cattle Short Course, Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership program and the Texas 4-H Foundation, with special support of the Texas 4-H Roundup.
“The list goes on and adds up to hundreds of thousands of dollars invested in AgriLife Extension education by Capital Farm Credit and its branch offices, as well as in AgriLife Extension educators, from the county to state level,” Steele said. “Capital Farm Credit is there with a guiding hand too, from providing speakers and serving on program committees to making significant donations for the Hurricane Ike recovery effort and other emergencies.
“So not only is Capital Farm Credit a premier lender for rural Texas and Texas agriculture, it is a premier partner and friend of AgriLife Extension.”
The Texas Association of Dairymen and the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association also received 2017 awards. This year’s presentations occurred during the Texas A&M AgriLife Conference on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station.
