BROWNWOOD – The dates for the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s annual Lunch-N-Learn Horticulture Series in Brown County have been set for April 3, May 1, June 5 and July 3, its coordinator said.

“True to its name, all of the programs are scheduled from noon to 1 p.m.,” said Scott Anderson, AgriLife Extension agent in Brown County. “These programs are open to anyone interested in landscaping and gardening.

Individual registration is $25 for the series or $10 per program due upon arrival. No preregistration is required, and participants will be responsible for bringing their own lunch. For more information, call the AgriLife Extension office in Brown County at 325-646-0386.

All of the series except the June 5 program will be at the AgriLife Extension office, 605 Fisk Ave., Brownwood. The June 5 program will be at the Brownwood Community Garden, 1514 Dublin St., inside Brownwood Housing Authority Park Homes, behind the Central Texas Opportunities building.

The Lunch-N-Learn topics and speakers include:

– April 3, Reducing Water Use in Landscapes/Adding Native Plants, Jan Hardwick, owner of Jan Jan’s Nursery in Rising Star.

– May 1 Bees and Beekeeping 101, Daniel Graham, beekeeper, Brownwood.

– June 5, tour of Brownwood Community Garden.

– July 3, Identifying Plants in Landscapes, Dr. Jack Stanford, professor emeritus, Howard Payne University, Brownwood.
