Sain joins AgriLife Extension as Presidio County agent

PRESIDIO – Matlin Sain is the new Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agriculture and natural resources agent for Presidio County. She starts her AgriLife Extension career in the First Step program in Brewster County, working alongside agent Kloey Painter.
“We’re excited to have Matlin joining us in District 6,” said Rebel Royall, AgriLife Extension district administrator, Fort Stockton. “She will be a valuable addition to our Far West region given her extensive agricultural background and experience. She will benefit tremendously from starting with Kloey Painter in Brewster County, and I know she’ll be an asset to the entire district.”
Sain earned both her master’s in agricultural science and her bachelor’s in animal science at Sam Houston State University.
“I personally chose to work for AgriLife Extension, because of the impact that I know it can make on young adolescents and the general public,” Sain said. “ I want to inspire others to continue to desire to learn more about agriculture, because it is so crucial for our well being! Agriculture is no longer a career or a hobby, it’s now something that we must have in order to prosper and live a healthy life.”
Sain’s experience includes coordinating and conducting nutrition research for white-tailed deer fawns, equine nutrition research and managing a performance arena and equine housing facility.
