LUBBOCK — Dr. Andy Hart will be changing positions within the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Hart, who currently serves as the 4-H specialist for District 2, will be assuming the role of agriculture and natural resources agent for Hale County on Aug. 12.

“I am extremely excited to go back to Hale County to serve as the agriculture and natural resources agent,” said Hart. “This will be a great opportunity for me to continue to follow my passion of working with youth as well as adults in livestock and agriculture. I am excited to resume the tradition of excellence in programming and with the 4-H program. My kids are currently members of Hale County 4-H, and this will be a great move for my family and myself.”

Hart has been a 4-H youth development specialist since 2010 in Lubbock, leading 20 counties. From 2004-2010,  he served as the 4-H agent in Hale County.

Hart earned his degree in animal science from Texas Tech University and a master’s degree in animal science from Angelo State University. He earned a doctorate in agricultural education from Texas Tech University.

“Andy’s extensive work experience with AgriLife Extension, coupled with his educational background, make him a great fit for his new position,” said Michael Clawson, District 2 AgriLife Extension administrator, Lubbock. “He’s been a valued leader of the 4-H team for nearly a decade, and I’m looking forward to what he will bring to Hale County in his new role in agriculture and natural resources.”
