Carroll new AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent for Floyd County

LUBBOCK — Mark Carroll has transitioned from being the Texas 4-H Conference Center director in Brownwood to serving as the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agent for agriculture and natural resources in Floyd County.

“Mark will be a real asset to District 2 and Floyd County,” said Michael Clawson, AgriLife Extension administrator, Lubbock. “He did an excellent job in the past for Floyd County,  and now he is returning with even more experience under his belt. I think he will be an extremely valuable addition to the agriculture and natural resources team once again.”

Carroll earned his master’s degree in agriculture from Sul Ross University, Alpine, and his bachelor’s in agricultural communications from Texas Tech University, Lubbock.

“It’s great to be back in Floyd County,” said Carroll. “I am very excited to be back in the role of  county agent. Floyd County has a long history of having a strong extension program, and the community is very supportive.

“I especially look forward to working directly with 4-H families, producers and residents to provide them with a variety of educational programs,” he said. “My kids were raised in the 4-H program and, as a parent, I have personally witnessed how the program impacts our youth.”

Carroll previously served as an AgriLife Extension agent for agriculture and natural resources in  Terrell County from 2007-2010 and in Floyd County from 2010-2011 before working at the 4-H Conference Center in 2012.
