Holland joins AgriLife Extension as agent for Cochran County

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service hired David Holland as the new AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent for Cochran County.

“I’m excited with the hiring of David as the AgriLife Extension agent in Cochran County,” said Michael Clawson, AgriLife Extension district administrator, Lubbock. “His maturity, work ethic and desire to help people will benefit both the citizens of Cochran County and AgriLife Extension agency.”

Clawson said Holland’s  background in both the 4-H and FFA programs, along with his experiences working with youth while at Texas Tech University, will help grow and strengthen the youth development program in the county.

Holland earned his bachelor’s degree in animal science from Texas Tech University. While at Texas Tech, he was on the Meat Judging Team and was the meat science delegate for the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. 

Holland also lead 4-H and FFA contests and was the recipient of the Gordon W. Davis scholarship and a Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo scholarship.

He previously worked as the assistant production manager at Raider Red Meats.
