Green Thumbs Up February events for Williamson County announced
Free Master Gardener program covers preparing spring tools
Williamson County Master Gardeners will present their Green Thumbs Up program three times in February. The Master Gardener program is administered by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.
The monthly topic, Preparing Garden Tools for Spring, will be led by Master Gardener Tommy King on Feb. 3, Feb. 8 and Feb. 16.
The Green Thumbs Up Gardening Program is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
“This time of year is perfect to start getting your tools ready for spring gardening,” said Kate Whitney, AgriLife Extension horticulturist for Williamson County. “Use these cold and rainy days of late winter to get your tools in great shape so you can enjoy the spring gardening season.”
Whitney said topics covered will include how to get your lawn mower ready for spring, repair handles and sharpen blades on your hand tools, and many other maintenance tips to prepare for spring gardening.
“Keeping your garden tools in tip-top shape will save you time, energy and money,” she said.
