BRYAN –  Victoria “Vickie” Dunlap, office manager at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office for San Patricio County, has received the Superior Service Award in the agency’s office support staff-county category.

Superior Service Awards recognize AgriLife Extension faculty and staff members who provide outstanding performance in AgriLife Extension education or other outstanding service to the organization and to Texans. The award was presented Jan. 12 during the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Conference awards dinner at the Brazos Expo Center in Bryan.

Since 1995, Dunlap has not only worked as office manager, but has served as secretary for several county agents and as liaison between AgriLife Extension staff and elected officials at county, district and state levels.

She also assists with 4-H activities and program planning, plus maintains files of programs, surveys and attendance lists.

In his letter of support, Adrian Arredondo, AgriLife Extension agent for 4-H and youth development, wrote, “Vickie is a role model of what support staff should be. In the four years I have been with San Patricio County, I have never seen her have down time. She is always one step ahead of the work that has to be done. Vickie always has the agents’ best interests in mind and makes us look like champs.”

Kathy Farrow, an AgriLife Extension agent for family and consumer sciences, said Dunlap is indispensable.

“I am a leftie, and when I introduce Vickie I always say she is my right hand because she keeps me on track,” Farrow wrote. “ She’s always ready to ensure our success as agents. She is the best secretary anyone could ever have.”

Felecia Espinosa, an assistant with AgriLife Extension’s Better Living for Texans program, said, “Vickie always goes above and beyond to make sure everyone’s program needs are met, including mine. She has assisted me in so many projects, from creating brochures, retyping handouts and downloading photos. She is a true professional, and her dedication to our AgriLife Extension family is priceless.”

Jana Whatley Williams, the San Patricio County 4-H Ambassadors project leader, said, “Vickie Dunlap is invaluable to our organization. She always gives 110 percent in everything she does and is honestly irreplaceable. If you need to find Vickie, she is always at her desk working away, well past time to go home!”

In addition to her professional duties, Dunlap volunteers with several local organizations, including the Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, American Red Cross, Sinton for Youth Committee, Old Fiddlers Festival and the March of Dimes.
