Klemm named development officer for Texas A&M’s agriculture, life sciences

COLLEGE STATION — Mark Klemm of College Station has been named assistant vice president of development for agriculture and life sciences at Texas A&M University, according to Dr. Mark Hussey, vice chancellor and dean.

“Mark has been an exceptional fundraiser and an asset for Texas A&M throughout his career,” Hussey said. “We are fortunate to have someone with Mark’s experience, energy and enthusiasm to lead initiatives for agriculture and life sciences.”

Klemm most recently served as campaign director for the university’s Lead By Example Capital Campaign, working with academic leaders and donors to design, evaluate and adjust strategies to successfully launch the $4 billion campaign, Hussey noted.

Klemm also previously worked in development for the university’s colleges of liberal arts and engineering, and has helped in development roles with the Presbyterian Foundation, Rice University, the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and the American Heart Association.

He graduated from Texas A&M in 1981 with a bachelor’s in political science.
