LUBBOCK — The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension office of Lubbock County and Lubbock Master Gardeners Association are proud to announce the recipients of the 2019 LMGA scholarship.

“This year LMGA was able to award two $500 scholarships to area students pursuing a college education in botany, horticulture or a closely related field,” said Christina Reid, AgriLife Extension horticulture agent for Lubbock County. “This year’s recipients were announced at the September LMGA meeting.”

This year’s winners are Pierce Clary, a landscape architecture major, and Gabriella Hale, a plant and soil science major. Both recipients attend Texas Tech University.

The annual LMGA scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and Lubbock-area college students.  Applicants should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and college students should be taking 12 or more hours each semester.

“LMGA and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Lubbock County horticulture are so pleased to support area students and look forward to seeing all that they will accomplish in the future,” said Reid.

LMGA is a member of the Texas Master Gardener Association, a non-profit educational and volunteer service organization affiliated with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. The program is designed to increase the availability of horticultural information and extend horticultural projects throughout the county.
