Grisham named AgriLife Extension family, community health agent for Hutchinson County

STINNETT – Sharing the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service message is a passion of Faith Grisham’s, one that has landed her a new position as the family and community health agent for Hutchinson County.

Grisham, a native of Van Vleck, most recently worked as the Better Living for Texans program assistant at the AgriLife Extension office in Randall County. She will make the move to Hutchinson County May 1.

“Faith has gained excellent experience during her time as BLT assistant and will hit the ground running,” said Brandon Dukes, AgriLife Extension district administrator in Amarillo. “I am excited about the health and wellness education she will initiate in Hutchinson County.

“Faith also brings a strong background in 4-H and youth development, which will be a great addition to what is already a growing 4-H program,” Dukes said.

Grisham said she was acquainted with AgriLife Extension programs through 4-H, where she had food and nutrition, clothing, public speaking and livestock projects. She also interned under Amy Wagner, the family and community health agent in Randall County, while earning her bachelor’s degree from West Texas A&M University.

“I’ve always wanted to work with educating people, but not in the formal school setting,” she said. “I just like to help people.”

Helping people in Hutchinson County will include working with the 4-H program as well as nutrition programming with different audiences and partnering with community businesses, Grisham said.

“As the BLT assistant, I’ve learned how to work with diverse audiences to share our message,” she said. “There are differences in the needs of the rural and urban clientele we serve. I feel having this experience will help me serve Hutchinson County clientele better.”
