Series of spring gardening, landscaping seminars set for San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Bexar County Master Gardeners volunteer organization will hold a series of free spring gardening seminars in San Antonio.
The seminars will be presented by David Rodriguez, AgriLife Extension horticulturist, Bexar County. Seminar names, times, locations and descriptions for the presentations are:
— Spring Cleanup Seminar: Landscape Chores to Do Now. Feb. 27 from 10:30 a.m.-noon, Milberger’s Landscape Nursery, 3920 N. Loop 1604 East. Attendees will learn what needs to be pruned, fertilized, mulched and planted in their garden, lawn or landscape this spring.
— Spring Vegetable Seminar: Let’s Grow Our Family Garden, March 12 from 10:30 a.m.-noon, Milberger’s Landscape Nursery, 3920 N. Loop 1604 East. Attendees will learn what types of vegetables are best to plant in the spring and how to plant them the Earth-Kind way. Master Gardeners attending will receive 1.5 continuing education units.
— Spring Vegetable Seminar: Let’s Grow Some Vegetables, March 16 from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Blue Star Brewing Company, 1414 S. Alamo St. Attendees will learn the right types of vegetables to grow during the spring and how to plant the Earth-Kind way. Master Gardeners attending will receive 1.5 continuing education units.
“Bring plenty of questions, a pen and a notebook,” Rodriguez said. “Attendees may want to come early and have dinner at their wonderful bar and grill.”
— Spring Vegetable Seminar: Let’s Grow Our Family Garden, March 19 from 10:30 a.m.-noon, Fanick’s Garden Center, 1025 Holmgreen Road. Attendees will learn what types of vegetables are best to plant in the spring and how to plant the Earth-Kind way. Master Gardeners attending will receive 1.5 continuing education units.
— Spring Gardening Seminar: Tomatoes, Citrus and More, March 26 from 10:30-noon, The Garden Center, 10682 Bandera Road. Attendees will learn how to grow tomatoes, citrus plants and more using the Earth-Kind method. Master Gardeners attending will receive 1.5 continuing education units.
