Registration is open for spring vector management continuing education courses on Feb. 22
Courses educate municipal personnel in managing mosquitoes and other pests
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host vector management continuing education courses at various locations statewide for municipal personnel on Feb. 22.
The courses will be from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. unless noted, and breakfast and lunch will be included. Registration is $50. Those wanting to attend can register at https://tx.ag/VectorMgmtCEUProgram.
A total of 25 continuing education units will be available through the Texas Department of Agriculture, TDA, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, TDLR, and the Department of State Health Services, DSHS.
The units include five structural and five agricultural from the TDA; five units of each in animal control, code enforcement and registered sanitation offered through TLDR and five animal control units from the DSHS.
The program is designed to educate personnel in cities and municipalities on the latest techniques and regulations in vector control, the latest vector-borne diseases affecting Texas and abatement techniques for such vectors as mosquitoes, ticks and fleas.

- Feb. 22 – Victoria County 4-H Activity Center, 259 Bachelor Drive, Victoria.
- March 13 – Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Weslaco, 2401 E. U.S. Highway 83, Weslaco.
- March 20 – 8 a.m.-5 p.m., North Texas Mosquito Management Seminar, Grapevine Convention Center, 1209 South Main St., Grapevine. This workshop is only open to city/county/state employees. Registration can be done by visiting https://tx.ag/NTXMosquitoMgmt
- March 28 – Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Fort Bend County, 1402 Band Road, Suite 100, Rosenberg.
- April 4 – San Antonio Garden Center, Inc., 3310 N. New Braunfels Ave., San Antonio.
- April 10 – Hilton Garden Inn, 220 E. Grande Boulevard, Tyler. This workshop will be from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and hosted by the Texas Mosquito Control Association. Registration is free for TMCA members or $100 for non-members. Registration can be done through https://tx.ag/TMCAWorkshop.
