Women in Agriculture Conference set for Sept. 10-11 in Fort Worth

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host the second annual Women in Agriculture Conference on Sept. 10-11 in Fort Worth.

The event will be held from 1-5:30 p.m. on Sept. 10 and 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sept. 11 at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Fort Worth Historic Stockyards, 2315 N. Main St.

Cost is $150, and participants can register by visiting https://tx.ag/WomenInAgFortWorth. The registration deadline is Sept. 1, and hotel reservations made by Aug. 2 to receive a reduced rate.

A networking reception will follow the main program on Sept. 10 and a luncheon will be held during the final day. Stephanie Fryer, relationship manager, Capital Farm Credit, Wichita Falls, will be the keynote speaker during the luncheon.

On the agenda

The conference is geared toward women who are in or are interested in agriculture and agribusiness and features topics in agribusiness, personnel management, agrotourism and estate planning.

• U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency overview — John Tyson, USDA Farm Services Agency county executive director, Fort Worth.
• Accounting records/taxes: Brandt Self, accountant, Clifton Larson Allen LLP, Austin, and Paige Todd, assurance manager, Clifton Larson Allen LLP, Fort Worth.
• Ag valuation — Blake Bennett, AgriLife Extension management economist and associate professor, Texas A&M Department of Agricultural Economics, Dallas.
