The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host the award-winning Ranchers Leasing Workshop Sept. 23 in Crockett. 

The workshop will be held from noon to 4:30 p.m. at the Crockett Civic Center, 1100 Edmiston Drive. Registration is $50, which includes lunch. Online registration is available at bit.ly/RLWCrockett.

Ranchers Leasing Workshop topics and speakers

The half-day workshop will focus on the legal and economic issues surrounding grazing, hunting and livestock leases. A section on landowner liability will also be included. 

Tiffany Lashmet, J.D., AgriLife Extension agricultural law specialist and professor, Amarillo, and Greg Kaase, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension senior program specialist, both in the Texas A&M Department of Agricultural Economics, will teach the workshop and be available to answer questions. 

All participants will receive a copy of the Ranchers Agricultural Leasing Handbook, which contains checklists and sample lease language. 

Continuing education credits available

Attendees can earn up to four Texas Real Estate Commission continuing education credits.
