The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host a Landscape Maintenance category training on Nov. 13 in Fort Worth.

The course will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Resource Connection of Tarrant County, 2300 Circle Drive. 

The cost of the course is $170 per person, which includes the required training manual, the general manual, and the Laws and Regulations manual. Online registration is available at https://tx.ag/LandscapeMaintenance.

About the course

The eight-hour course can be used to prepare individuals who want to license with the Texas Department of Agriculture in the Landscape Maintenance — ornamental and turf — category, which includes control of insects, diseases, unwanted plants and other organisms affecting ornamental plants and turf grasses. 

The instructor will be Mark Matocha, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension environmental unit pesticide safety education specialist, Agricultural and Environmental Safety Unit, Bryan-College Station. The course will prepare individuals for the General Standards and Landscape Maintenance exams.
