AgriLife Extension to host pre-plant meeting in Randall County on Jan. 22
Agenda includes updates on cotton, wheat, corn and sorghum silage, and crop production trials and studies
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Randall County will host a producer pre-plant meeting on Jan. 22 in Canyon.
The program will be held at the Kuhlman Extension Center, 200 N. Brown Road. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the program will conclude at 2 p.m. The cost is $10, which includes lunch and is payable at the door on the day of the event.

- Cotton update — Ken Lege, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension cotton specialist and assistant professor, Texas A&M Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, Lubbock.
- Wheat update — Steelee Fischbacher, executive director, Texas Wheat Producers Board and Association, Amarillo.
- Corn/sorghum silage update — Kevin Heflin, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension program specialist, Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, Amarillo.
- Crop production trials/studies updates — Craig Bednarz, Ph.D., Texas A&M AgriLife Research crop physiologist and director of the Semi-Arid Agricultural Systems Institute and associate professor at West Texas A&M University, Canyon.
Four Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units will be available — three general and one laws and regulations for auxin training.
