Agriculture financial assistance workshop set April 4 in Austin
AgriLife Extension event geared toward landowners, farmers and ranchers
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Travis County will host an agriculture financial assistance workshop on April 4 in Austin.

The workshop, which is geared toward landowners, farmers, ranchers and those looking to get involved in agriculture, will be held at the Travis County East Service Center, 6011 Blue Bluff Road Building A, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The cost is $20, which includes lunch.

About the workshop
The AgriLife Extension office for Travis County is partnering with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, USDA; the Farm Service Agency, FSA; the Natural Resources Conservation Service, NRCS, and the Texas Climate-Smart Initiative to put on the workshop.
Attendees will receive information about financial and technical funding and grant programs offered by the different entities within the agriculture industry.
Speakers include:
- McKayla Miertschin, county executive director, Bastrop/Travis counties, USDA-FSA.
- Kaile Brant, urban conservationist, Austin Service Center, USDA-NRCS.
- Andy Smith, project manager, Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board, Texas Climate-Smart Initiative.
- Gabrielle Scott, ambassador, Texas Climate-Smart Initiative.
