The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host the District 8 Farm and Ranch Seminar both in person and virtually on Dec. 14 in Waco and at different locations districtwide.

The event will be held from 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m., with registration beginning at 7 a.m. Registration is $60, and an RSVP is required by calling the local AgriLife Extension offices for the numbers listed below. The location of the meeting is also listed:

A total of eight Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units will be available for those who attend, including four general units, two integrated pest management units and two laws and regulations units.

Opportunities to meet applicator requirements

Licensed commercial and non-commercial applicators will also be able to obtain their required five hours within the first five hours of the program.

Private applicator license holders must obtain 15 hours of CEUs every five years to renew or recertify their license. This includes two hours of laws and regulations, two hours of integrated pest management and any mix of these and general hours to equal the required 15 hours of CEUs.

Licensed commercial and non-commercial applicators are required to recertify every year by obtaining five continuing education credits with one credit each from two of the following categories: laws and regulations, integrated pest management or drift minimization.
