Annual fall pest management seminar slated for Nov. 20 in Dallas
Event includes full day of pesticide applicator training
The Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Dallas will host its annual Fall Integrated Pest Management Continuing Education Unit seminar on Nov. 20 in Dallas.
The event, which includes a full day of pesticide applicator training from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service experts, will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the center, 17360 Coit Road.
Online registration is available at https://tx.ag/Fall24IPM. Early registration is $100 and available until Nov. 15. Late registration and at-the-door registration is $140.
About the training
Attendees will receive the latest updates on pesticide laws, pest biology and identification, and pest management strategies.
A total of 10 continuing education units are available — five agricultural and five structural. CEUs are available for both Texas Department of Agriculture, TDA, and Texas Structural Pest Control Service, SPCS, license holders.
Topics offered include:
- Integrated weed management in turfgrass systems, Pablo Boeri, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension turfgrass specialist and assistant professor in the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, Dallas.
- Ornamental and turfgrass management, Meghyn Meeks, Ph.D., Texas A&M AgriLife Research assistant research scientist, Dallas.
- Nurturing nature: IPM for the next generation, Janet Hurley, AgriLife Extension senior program specialist, Texas A&M Department of Entomology, Dallas.
- Updates on TDA and SPCS regulations, Henry Krusekopf, Texas Department of Agriculture, Wichita Falls.
- Ants that bother you inside and outside, Jake Wightman, AgriLife Extension agricultural and environmental safety program specialist, Bryan-College Station.
