The annual Birthplace of Texas 4-H Lamb and Goat Show will take place on Sept. 13 in the Jack County Fair Barn, 1072 Texas Highway 59 in Jacksboro.

The event is hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service 4-H program in Jack County and the Lions Club.

The jackpot event is open to all Texas exhibitors. The entry fee is $30 for one ring.

A showmanship competition will kick off the activities at 9 a.m. with a fee of $5 at the gate.

The show will start at 10 a.m., with weight cards due at 9 a.m.

Show format

There will be a five-breed format for lambs in the market lamb and wether dam classes. The goats will be shown by weight, with classes for market goats and wether does.

Judges will be Scott Mauney of Santo for the goats and Stuart Spruill of Stephenville for the lambs.
