About the Cooking with Cultures course

The course is designed to educate participants on nutrition, food safety and healthy cooking techniques via interest in cultural cuisines. It also aims to expand ingredients and techniques familiar to participants to increase confidence when cooking diverse recipes.

The course will be taught by Rachel Esquivel, AgriLife Extension family and community health agent for McLennan County, who has taken traditional recipes and modified them to contain less saturated fat, lower sodium and fewer added sugars, while preserving traditional flavors.

For more information, contact Esquivel at 254-757-5180 or [email protected].
