The Texas A&M Department of Poultry Science will host its annual Steak Fry and social event for current and former students as well as the public on Oct. 12.

The day-long event includes a poultry judging contest, a cornhole tournament, a poultry science social and will conclude with the annual Steak Fry and live auction. 

The Flockback Classic poultry judging contest begins at 11 a.m. at the Poultry Science Research, Teaching and Extension Center, 1202 Harvey Mitchell Parkway, College Station. Entry fee is $20. 

The cornhole tournament is $40 per team and will begin at 3:30 p.m. The social and Steak Fry will follow with dinner starting at 6 p.m., with tickets $20 for adults and $10 for ages 12 and under. 

The cornhole tournament, social and dinner will be held at the Thomas G. Hildebrand, DVM ’56 Equine Complex, 3240 F&B Road, College Station.

About the competition

The Flockback Classic is in its inaugural year and will feature a combination of collegiate, FFA and 4-H classes. 

Proceeds from the competition will support the department’s summer poultry judging camps.
