Farm Hope workshop set for April 24 in Robstown
Program will focus on farm and ranch estate and financial planning, stress management
Farm Hope, a free estate planning, financial planning and farm stress workshop, is slated for April 24 in Robstown. The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Nueces County will host the event.

The event will be from 5-8 p.m. at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds, 1213 Terry Shamsie Blvd.
There is no cost to attend, but preregistration is required by visiting https://tx.ag/FarmHope. A free dinner will also be provided.
About the program
The program will focus on farm and ranch estate and financial planning. In addition, presenters will discuss stressors unique to farming and ranching and strategies to help manage them.
Attendees will create estate and succession plans to help ensure the success and well-being of the next generation who will take over the farm or ranch.
Topics and speakers include:
- Agricultural estate planning basics, Tiffany Lashmet, J.D., AgriLife Extension agricultural law specialist and professor, Department of Agricultural Economics, Amarillo.
- Financial planning, Joe Newcomb, Relationship Manager IV, and Emma Mosley, Relationship Manager II, Capital Farm Credit, Robstown.
- Farm and ranch stress and farm hope services, Miquela Smith, AgriLife Extension health program specialist in the Disaster Assessment and Recovery unit, Lubbock, and Mikaela Spooner, psychologist, Texas A&M Health.
