The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in McLennan County is hosting its annual Last Chance Continuing Education Unit, CEU, program on Feb. 18 in Waco.

The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the AgriLife Extension office in McLennan County, 4224 Cobbs Drive. Registration is $50 for all six hours, $20 for one hour and $10 for each additional hour for individuals who don’t plan to stay all day. Breakfast and lunch are included.

The course will provide six Texas Department of Agriculture CEUs, including two laws and regulations, two integrated pest management, one drift minimization and one general. 

The agenda

The following CEUs will be offered at the listed times:

  • 8-9 a.m. — one laws and regulations.
  • 9-10 a.m. — one laws and regulations.
  • 10 a.m.-noon — two integrated pest management.
  • 12:30-1:30 p.m. — one drift minimization.
  • 1:30-2:30 p.m. — one general.

Pesticide applicator requirements

Private applicator license holders must obtain a total of 15 hours of CEUs every five years to renew/recertify their license, which includes two laws and regulations units, two integrated pest management units and any mix of these and general units to equal the required 15 hours of CEUs.

Licensed commercial and noncommercial applicators must recertify every year by obtaining five continuing education credits, with one credit each from two of the following categories: laws and regulations, integrated pest management or drift minimization.
