The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host a Last Chance Continuing Education Unit, CEU, workshop on Feb. 20 in Waco.

The event will be held from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the AgriLife Extension office in McLennan County, 4224 Cobbs Drive. Registration is $45 for all seven hours or individuals who don’t plan to stay all day can pay $20 for one hour and $10 for each additional hour. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required.

The course will provide participants with seven Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units, including three laws and regulations, one general, two integrated pest management and one drift minimization.

On the agenda

The following CEUs will be offered at the listed times:

— 8-9 a.m. – Auxin training, one laws and regulations CEU.
— 9-10 a.m. – one laws and regulations CEU.
— 10 a.m.-noon – two integrated pest management CEUs.
— 12:30-1:30 p.m. – one drift minimization CEU.
— 1:30-2:30 p.m. – one laws and regulations CEU.
— 2:30-3:30 p.m. – one general CEU.

Pesticide applicator requirements

Private applicator license holders must obtain a total of 15 hours of CEUs every five years to renew/recertify their license, which includes two laws and regulations units, two integrated pest management units and any mix of these and general units to equal the required 15 hours of CEUs.

Licensed commercial and non-commercial applicators are required to recertify every year by obtaining five continuing education credits, with one credit each from two of the following categories: laws and regulations, integrated pest management or drift minimization.
