About the workshop

Prescribed fire, or prescribed burn, is a highly planned and monitored land management tool that mimics fire’s historic role across Texas ecosystems, said David Brooke, AgriLife Extension statewide prescribed fire coordinator with the Texas A&M Department of Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management, San Angelo.

“Prescribed burns help land managers achieve specific goals such as wildfire fuel reduction, improved wildlife habitat and livestock forage, and invasive species removal,” Brooke said.

The workshop will provide participants with key information on planning and implementing a prescribed burn and feature a hands-on demonstration.
