Soybean ‘power up’ meeting slated for June 4 in El Campo
Updates, pesticide regulations and economic outlook on the agenda
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Wharton County, the Texas Soybean Board and the Texas Soybean Association will host “Power Up — Tools for Success” on June 4 in El Campo.

The meeting will be held from 8-11:45 a.m. at the El Campo Civic Center, 2350 N. Mechanic St. There is no cost; all registration will be held on site.
Two Texas Department of Agriculture general continuing education units will be available for pesticide license holders.
On the agenda
The speakers and topics include:
- Welcome and state soybean update, Daniel Berglund, Texas Soybean Board and Texas Soybean Association.
- Research update, James Grichar, Ph.D., Texas A&M AgriLife Research senior research scientist, Corpus Christi.
- Pesticide regulations, Corrie Bowen, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent, Wharton County.
- National update, Melanie Fitzpatrick, American Soybean Association.
- Economic outlook, Joe Outlaw, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension economist and co-director of the Agricultural and Food Policy Center at Texas A&M University in the Department of Agricultural Economics.
