Texas A&M AgriLife Hemphill County Beef Conference April 29-30
‘Happy days are here again’ theme of two-day event in Canadian
“Happy days are here again in the beef cattle industry” is the theme of the 10th annual Texas A&M AgriLife Hemphill County Beef Conference slated for April 29-30 at the Jones Pavillion, 1101 N. Sixth St., Canadian.

The two-day Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service conference will offer educational sessions from nationally recognized speakers and highlight new technologies to assist with rangeland management, use of artificial insemination to genetically improve profitability for cow/calf producers, and much more.
The cost is $175 per person and spouse tickets are $150. The cost includes lunch on both days and dinner on the first day. Registration is available online at https://tx.ag/Hemphill.
There will also be a presentation to the “Rancher of the Year” as well as a trade show on both days.
“This conference is a national event with paid registrations from 29 states and 92 Texas counties to date,” said Andy Holloway, AgriLife Extensin agriculture and natural resources agent for Hemphill County. “The Hemphill County Ag Committee promises an incredible opportunity to network with agribusiness from all over the country, including 122 trade show exhibitors.”

Among the conference topics are:
- The beef cattle markets.
- The weather outlook.
- Geopolitical circumstances potentially affecting free trade for agricultural products, especially beef in the U.S.
- What the next five years look like for beef cattle producers, landowners and stakeholders.
Keynote speaker
Serving as this year’s keynote speaker is Dan Owolabi, the founding executive director of Branches Worldwide, a nonprofit dedicated to making long-term investments in high-impact Christian entrepreneurs around the world.
Owolabi has 20 years of experience teaching leadership and has worked with leaders in over 15 countries and four continents to help them clarify their identity and leverage their influence to serve others.
His latest book, “Authentic Leadership,” became an Amazon No. 1 new release and is part of the executive leadership curriculum at Harvard University and other MBA programs in the U.S.
