Turfgrass management program details

The program will cover turfgrass best management practices, such as irrigation and pesticide label interpretation. A pesticide and fertilizer application calculations workshop will also be included in the program.

“This short course is designed for turfgrass professionals and enthusiasts looking to expand their knowledge of turfgrass systems and best management practices,” said Manuel Chavarria, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension specialist and professor in the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, Bryan-College Station. “The objective is to empower turfgrass managers to make confident, well-informed decisions through a combination of applied and theoretical knowledge.”

The responsible management of turfgrass, especially implementing best management practices for fertilizers and pesticides, is a crucial part of environmental stewardship, Chavarria said. This course will contribute to stakeholder education and investment in protecting local water quality.
