The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and OneOp will host a webinar on April 17 focused on improving health and wellness by going outside in nature.

The free webinar will be held from 10-11 a.m. OneOp is a virtual professional development platform for providers who serve military families.

Participants can register by visiting https://tx.ag/OneOpNature. Once registered, participants will receive an email with instructions and a link to attend. The webinar can also be viewed on YouTube Live for those who are unable to access the link. Contact OneOp at [email protected] for technical support.

Rachel Brauner, AgriLife Extension program specialist, Bryan-College Station, said the webinar will cover some of the latest research and the health benefits of getting outside in nature, as well as practical programs and initiatives for participants to consider.

Webinar topics cover health and wellness benefits of nature

Debra Kellstedt, DrPH, AgriLife Extension specialist, Bryan-College Station, is the featured speaker.

The webinar will cover the following topics:

  • Identifying the health and wellness benefits of spending time in nature.
  • Discussing enablers and barriers to regularly connecting with nature.
  • Exploring programs that help individuals and families, as well as communities, to get outside more.
