About the food preservation workshop

The hands-on class will be led by Rachel Esquivel, AgriLife Extension family and community health agent for McLennan County.

Participants will be taught how to use a water bath canner and pressure canner. They will prepare jars and food, following a tested and approved recipe, and be able to take their canned products home.

Additionally, participants will learn about different types of canners and how to prepare different high-acid foods including fruits, tomatoes, jams, jellies and pickled products.
