The class will be from 8 a.m. to noon at the AgriLife Extension office in McLennan County, 4224 Cobbs Drive, Waco. The cost is $70, payable by cash or check only, and covers all course materials, breakfast and beverages. The deadline to register is Nov. 29.

About the course

The course will prepare individuals for the Texas Department of Agriculture’s private pesticide applicator exam and is designed for pesticide applicators in Texas who want to obtain a pesticide license.

Private pesticide applicators use or supervise the use of restricted-use or state-limited-use pesticides or regulated herbicides to produce an agricultural commodity. They can work on personally owned property, rented property, property owned by an employer, property under their general control or the property of another person — if applied without compensation other than the trading of personal services between producers of agricultural commodities.

To register, or for more information, contact the AgriLife Extension office at 254-757-5180 or email Nicole Kosier at [email protected].
