Davidson Creek watershed meeting set for July 1 in Caldwell
Local stakeholders invited to learn about, contribute to improving water quality
The Texas Water Resources Institute, TWRI, will host a July 1 meeting in Caldwell to update community members, landowners and residents on the Davidson Creek Watershed Protection Plan.

The meeting begins at noon at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Burleson County, 1516 Farm-to-Market Road 166. Attendees are asked to RSVP at https://tx.ag/DavidsonWPP.
About the meeting
The meeting is the latest in a series of watershed protection plan, WPP, events and offers local stakeholders a valuable opportunity to help shape the future of Davidson Creek, said Amanda Tague, TWRI research specialist with Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Bryan-College Station. The goal is to create a voluntary stakeholder-driven plan to restore the creek’s water quality.
“Whether you’re a landowner, resident or just care about the health of our waterways, your input is essential,” Tague said.“This meeting will highlight how our land use impacts water quality and how we can work together to protect it.”
The meeting will recap previous discussions and then discuss two chapters of the Davidson Creek WPP:
- Watershed characterization, exploring the climate and landscape and physical characteristics within the watershed boundary.
- Potential pollutant sources, linking land use patterns to potential sources of bacteria and other pollution.
The Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board provides funding for developing the Davidson Creek WPP through the State Nonpoint Source Grant Program.
TWRI is a unit of Texas A&M AgriLife Research that brings together expertise from across The Texas A&M University System.
