The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and McLennan Community College are hosting a Do Well Be Well with Diabetes series in Waco beginning Jan. 2.

The four-week series, held on Thursday evenings from 5:30-7:30 p.m., will explore new topics each week. Classes will be held at the AgriLife Extension office in McLennan County, 4224 Cobbs Drive, Waco. 

The cost is $15 and online registration is available at https://tx.ag/diabetesworkshop. The deadline to register is Dec. 31.

About the program

Do Well Be Well with Diabetes is an active-living class designed to help people with diabetes and anyone who prepares meals or cares for them. This four-lesson course includes basic nutrition education to help plan meals and promote self-care practices for people with diabetes. 

Participants will learn quick dinner ideas and gain the knowledge necessary to maintain a healthy blood glucose level while living an active lifestyle. 

The class will be led by Rachel Esquivel, AgriLife Extension family and community health agent for McLennan County.
