The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will hold a mental health workshop on Aug. 19 in Texarkana.

The free workshop will begin at 6 p.m. at Liberty-Eylau Baptist Church, 5605 S. Lake Drive. Registration is available by calling the AgriLife Extension office for Bowie County at 903-628-6702. Deadline to RSVP is Aug. 15. 

About the workshop

The workshop will introduce participants to the experience and practice of mindfulness to reduce stress. 

Participants will: 

  • Learn the benefits of mindfulness-based approaches to stress reduction. 
  • Learn how to recognize personal stressors. 
  • Experience mindful movement, mindful breathing and other mindfulness skills as ways to relax and manage stress.
