Instant Pot cooking class set for March 12 in Waco
Class helps participants to prepare meals using popular cooking method
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host a course on cooking meals in the Instant Pot cooker system on March 12 in Waco.
The course will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the AgriLife Extension office in McLennan County, 4224 Cobbs Drive. Registration is $30, and the deadline to register is March 7.
To register, contact the AgriLife Extension office at 254-757-5180 or Rachel Esquivel, AgriLife Extension family and community health agent, at [email protected].
Ease of cooking with electric pressure cookers
The class will offer participants a different way of cooking meals using the Instant Pot cooking system to help cook delicious and healthy meals.
“Because there are so many kitchen gadgets out on the market now between air fryers and dehydrators, we wanted to showcase the awesome capabilities of the Instant Pot,” Esquivel said. “We chose the Instant Pot because of its universal settings and setup.”
Participants will be able to learn how to cook a main course, two sides and a dessert during the class.
Basic functions covered
Esquivel will walk participants through different functions of the cooker and how they can use each function to cook each dish. She will also show participants how to manually set their cookers if needed for special dishes.
There will be a section addressing how the cookers can and cannot be used and what to watch out for when cooking.
At the end of the class, participants will have a complete set of recipes and a copy of the presentation to take home.
