Medicaid basics, access strategies among topics covered

Featured speaker Christopher Plein, Ph.D., professor of public administration, West Virginia University, will provide a special focus on the variability across the states in benefits, eligibility and services.

Plein will review Medicaid and TRICARE health benefits for “dually eligible” military families. He will also highlight how caregiving is relevant across various stages of individual and family lifespans.

Rachel Brauner, AgriLife Extension program specialist and OneOp lifespan caregiving co-principal investigator, Bryan-College Station, said participants will learn more about recent developments in the program that may address economic security threats such as access to food and housing.

Participants will learn about strategies needed to overcome any barriers to accessing Medicaid.
