Webinar discusses basics of trusts, alternative accounts

Allison Packard, attorney, The Packard Law Firm, San Antonio, will be the featured speaker.

Rachel Brauner, AgriLife Extension program specialist, Bryan-College Station, said Packard will discuss the various types and the value of special needs trusts.

Participants will learn about the Achieving a Better Live Experience, or ABLE, account, which is a special account that can be used to help with medical expenses, Brauner said.

Participants will also learn how to select the appropriate trustee and the steps to direct income or assets into a trust or ABLE account, as well as how to apply military survivor benefit annuity payments into a first-party special needs trust.

There will be continuing education credits available for professional programs. Visit the OneOp website for a complete list. For technical support questions, contact OneOp at [email protected].
