Septic system class set for May 14 in Burleson
Clinic open to residents in Dallas, Ellis, Johnson and Tarrant counties
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Trinity River Authority of Texas will host a clinic for homeowners in the Joe Pool Lake and Village Creek-Lake Arlington watersheds on financial assistance available for septic system repairs or replacements.

The free clinic is slated for May 14 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Russell Farm Art Center, 405 W. County Road 714, Burleson. Online registration is available at https://tx.ag/JPLVCLA.
The clinic is open to residents in Dallas, Ellis, Johnson and Tarrant counties and aims to help protect local water quality by promoting proper septic system maintenance and providing information on grant eligibility.
The Joe Pool Lake and Village Creek-Lake Arlington Watershed Partnerships are leading a grant program of up to $8,000 in financial assistance to eligible homeowners with failing septic systems. The effort supports the long-term health of nearby waterways by reducing potential sources of pollution.
About the clinic
During the clinic, participants will learn how home septic systems, also known as on-site sewage facilities, function and why regular maintenance is critical. Failing systems can discharge harmful bacteria and other pollutants into surrounding streams and lakes, posing risks to both public health and aquatic ecosystems.
The Watershed Partnerships represent a collaboration between the Trinity River Authority of Texas; the cities of Cedar Hill, Grand Prairie, Mansfield, Midlothian and Arlington; Texas A&M AgriLife Research; AgriLife Extension; the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality; and local stakeholders. The initiative focuses on addressing water quality concerns in the Joe Pool Lake and Village Creek-Lake Arlington watersheds.
