DALLAS — The Texas A&M Agricultural Research and Extension Center in Dallas marks its 25th anniversary with a “Silver Celebration” on May 30 at its North Dallas facility on Coit Road. “We’ve invited the public to visit the Center that day to see how agriculture affects their lives, from new and better food products to better cotton T-shirts,” said Dennis G. Smith, celebration chairman and Camp County Extension agent. “Our Center is the only one of 12 in the state located in an urban area, so we’re especially noting the impact of 25 years of Extension research and outreach into the communities of North Texas with consumer information for families. This is a great educational experience for young children, completely free of charge.” Exhibits and demonstrations will show how traditional and urban agriculture touches the daily lives of urban residents.
