OMAHA, Nob. — Dr. Charles R. Hart of Fort Stockton received the Outstanding Young Professional award at the Society for Range Management’s 52nd annual meeting in Omaha, Neb. The award was initiated by the SRM in 1988 to recognize the promise and potential of its younger members.
Hart is an assistant professor and range specialist at the Texas Agricultural Extension Service in Fort Stockton. He has provided a high professional profile for range management, Extension and the Society for Range Management in his career.
Hart was cited for providing stable, issue-based programs for his clientele and presenting them in a variety of innovative as well as traditional ways. The results of these are exceptional. The citation read, “He has the gift of talking in realistic terms, concerning rangeland issues and management, while gaining acceptance from land managers and his peers.”
The Society for Range Management has members in 48 countries and is considered by many to be the world’s most knowledgeable organization concerning rangelands and their renewable natural resources.
