COLLEGE STATION - Dr. Karen Kubena was elected chair of the Academics Program Committee on Organization and Policy recently in Chicago at the annual meeting of National Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges.
The academics program committee includes deans and directors of academic programs for all land grant universities in the nation.
Kubena is College of Agriculture and Life Sciences associate dean for academic affairs at Texas A&M University. She also is professor of nutrition and food science.
She earned her bachelor’s in food and nutrition from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, her master’s in nutrition from Mississippi State University and her doctorate in nutrition from Texas A&M. Before coming to Texas A&M, Kubena was a dietitian in health care facilities in Mississippi and Texas.
