COLLEGE STATION The Texas A&M University Livestock Judging Team will host the annual Aggiefest Livestock Judging Contest on Oct. 18 at the Louis Pearce Pavilion in College Station.
Aggiefest is open to all Texas 4-H and FFA members. Participants will evaluate eight classes of livestock including cattle, swine and sheep. There will also be a questions class with five questions per species.
Contestant check-in is open from 7:30-8:45 a.m.; the contest begins at 9 a.m. The awards presentations will be at 1:30 p.m.
Each team should consist of four members. There are three age groups for the competition: sub-junior (age 8 to 11), junior (age 12-14) and senior (age 15 to 18). The high-scoring individual in each age division will receive a trophy belt buckle, and the top 10 high-scoring individuals and top two teams will also receive awards.
