Calving clinic set for Feb. 13 in Amarillo

AMARILLO – A “Calving and Proper Drug Use” clinic will be conducted by the Texas AgriLife Extension Service in Potter County Feb. 13 at the AgriLife Extension office, 3301 E. 10th Ave. in Amarillo.

The clinic will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude around 3 p.m. A $20 registration fee includes lunch and will be payable at the door, said Brandon Boughen, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent in Potter County.

The clinic will be presented by Dr. Floron “Buddy” Faries, AgriLife Extension state veterinarian at College Station. The morning demonstrations will be on assisting difficult calving and heifer selection and development for calving ease. The afternoon session will focus on the proper use of drugs in food animals and market show animals.

Registration forms must be received by Feb. 9 and can be found online at http://potter.agrilife.org/forms/. Checks must be made payable to Potter Agriculture Committee.
