AgriLife Extension recognizes Adcock with Superior Service Award

AMARILLO – Kim Adcock, Texas AgriLife Extension Service 4-H program assistant in Roberts County, has been awarded one of the highest recognitions within the agency, the Superior Service Award.

This award is presented to staff who demonstrate outstanding performance or provide exceptional service to AgriLife Extension, an educational outreach agency of The Texas A&M University System, according to the award guidelines.

Adcock has served 4‐H families and youth in Roberts County for nine years as the 4‐H program assistant. She will receive her award at the AgriLife Extension District 1 Awards Luncheon on May 15.

“We want to recognize Kim for her dedicated service to the youth and families of Roberts County,” said Brandon Dukes, 4-H specialist in Amarillo, in the award nomination. “Kim has provided exemplary leadership and innovation in expanding the opportunities of the 4‐H program through quality learning experiences, organization and support.”

Adcock has taken the lead in planning and implementing many family and consumer science-related projects that have been highly successful and lead to the growth of the program, Dukes said. She is recognized in the county and district for her commitment to expanding the 4‐H program through community and school outreach, special projects and encouragement to youth, parents and leaders.

“Kim loves her job and the citizens of Roberts County,” Dukes said. “Wherever there are youth in Roberts County, you will find Kim promoting 4‐H, providing fun learning activities, and encouraging participation of youth and their parents. She believes in the difference 4‐H makes in the lives of youth, and has pledged her time, energy and expertise to expanding the reach of this great organization.”

Dukes said in the small, one‐agent county, a program assistant has meant the difference between a basic 4‐H program and a program that provides a variety of quality learning experiences and projects, boasts a strong volunteer base, and is competitive at the district level in multiple events.

Whatever the county 4‐H activity, Adcock will be involved in the planning, implementation and evaluation, he said. From county workshops to 4‐H camps to assisting with 4‐H clubs and club management, she is involved in it all.

Adcock has previously been recognized with the 2011 Outstanding Customer Service, Support Staff Category ‐ District 1 Recognition Award; 2010 Outstanding Support Staff Member – District 1 Recognition Award; 2009 Honorary Chapter Farmer – Miami FFA; and 2009 Communications Award, Team Category ‐ Texas County Agriculture Agents Association.
