“I am excited to bring Jason to Haskell County and to District 3,” Dabovich said. “I think Jason will be a great fit in Haskell with his background in production agriculture and youth development.”

Westbrook, a native of Stephenville, earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tarleton State University and most recently worked there as a research associate.

“I worked as an intern in Erath County while completing my undergraduate degree and many of my duties there had some direct relationships with AgriLife Extension work,” he said. “I also have worked with several research stations on various projects through my AgriLife Extension position.

“Taking this position was a natural step for me, as I was also a 4-H member in high school and have been a program leader as an adult,” Westbrook said.

Westbrook was a board member of Erath County Farm Bureau, swine chairman for the Erath County Junior Livestock Show, served on the Stephenville school board, was a member of the Tri County Agri Business association and past president of Cowboy Capital of the World Pro Rodeo. He also participated on the college livestock and dairy judging team.
