Reagan County Range Workshop set Nov. 19 in Big Lake

BIG LAKE – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service offices in Reagan, Upton and Glasscock counties will conduct the Reagan County Range Workshop from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at the AgriLife Extension office in Reagan County, 1430 N. Ohio St., Big Lake.

“This program will deal with topics that are currently of major interest throughout our region, specifically for those producers having University of Texas ranch leases,” said Chase McPhaul, AgriLife Extension agent in Reagan County.

Individual registration is $10 and includes a noon meal. Organizers ask those planning to attend to RSVP to the AgriLife Extension office in Reagan County at 325-884-2335 by Nov. 15, so an accurate lunch count can be made.

Three Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units will be available – two general and one integrated pest management.

Topics and speakers will include:

– University Lands and Grazing Lease Updates, Joe Petersen, University Lands senior range conservationist, Midland.

– Identification and Management of Toxic Plants and New Herbicide Briefing, Dr. Alyson McDonald, AgriLife Extension range specialist, Fort Stockton.

– Oilfield Updates, Beau Johnson, Prime Operating landman, Houston.
